Doug Evans

Board Member and Humanitarian Co-chair

Doug and his wife Diane live in Oakley. He is the retired water and energy sustainability director of Mountain Regional Water District, a large water supplier in western Summit County. He has served on the Oakley City Council and as Mayor. Doug also served on the Summit County Board of Health. As an Oakley City Planning Commission member, he has helped rewrite the City's General Plan, Development Codes, and Zoning maps. He also serves as a South Summit Trails Foundation board member, believing that access to the outdoors is a lasting and effective treatment for mental health issues. As an avid hiker, biker, explorer, and naturalist, Doug has spent much of his life writing poetry and essays about the unifying aspects of nature, science, and his strong faith.
